Mrs. Corrie S. Stone
ANDERSON, Jan. 3--Mrs. Corrie Smith Stone, 86, died this morning at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Grover Thompson, in the Lebanon section.
Mrs. Stone, a resident of Anderson county, had been in bad health for several months, and suffered a stroke last Saturday.
She was the widow of James R. Stone, who died in 1933 and was born in Greenville county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Field Smith. Mrs. Stone was a devoted member of the Oak Hill Methodist church of Greenville county.
Survivors include four sons, Casper Stone, Williamston; Cleveland Stone, Pendleton; Mack Stone, Pendleton; Raymond Stone, Williamston; four daughters, Mrs. Mattie Harris, Williamston, Mrs. Ethel Thompson, Lebanon section; Mrs. Nellie Andrews, Whitmire, and Mrs. Ruby Nance, Whitmire; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Hale, Anderson; 34 grandchildren, and 42 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 3 o'clock from McDonald-Bleckley mortuary with Rev. Eustus officiating. Burial will follow in the Williamston cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be: Marshall Stone, Major Stone, William Stone, Albert Stone, Allan Nance, Jr., and Roger Stone.
The body will lie in state at the mortuary pending rites.
